Bioluminescence

Light is necessary in our everyday lives, but humans aren’t the only ones who rely on illuminance. Bioluminescence is a process through which certain animals or organisms produce light.  The reasoning for this light production varies between species.  Still, whether to attract prey, confuse predators, or attract a mate, bioluminescence is essential for the survival of creatures, both land and sea.

Luminosity Principal Craig Spring traveled to Puerto Rico in the spring of 2024 and witnessed bioluminescence first-hand.
